We are very pleased that you are interested in our town in Franconia. Weismain with its medieval townscape is situated in a very stunning part of Bavaria. The town is to be found in the triangle of the three upper Franconian cities Bamberg, Bayreuth and Coburg. Your are offered a natural beauty of a varied landscape with hills covered with juniper trees and pasturing sheep, rocky valleys which invite you for walking and rock climbing, rare animals and plants, peaceful footpaths and tumbling streams. Those who love excellent brewed beer will discover a great offer of numerous private breweries in the vicinity which is hard to find elsewhere. Besides in our town the author of the Hundred Years’s Calendar, abbot Mauritius Knauer, was born. He ist one of Weismain’s famous sons.
